College Football Season Has Begun

Today is Saturday at 9:37 a.m. and we've been watching College Football Coverage on ESPN since 9:00 a.m. Today I'm feeling especially surrounded by football: The AR Razorbacks are going to be on TV tonight, A & M has a home game (in addition to ring dunk weekend), the Greenwood Bulldogs (high school alum) won last night, and UT is playing Texas Tech tonight (both are hated by Aggies).

Because I am surrounded by football but do not understand football (nor do I care to understand football) I do read about football players and coaches so I can contribute to conversations when needed. The most recent person I became impressed with was Tim Tebow. ESPN keeps showing a press conference Tim Tebow did last year when he made "The Promise." I googled him and found an article about his mother, Pam, that impressed me more than Tim Tebow's devotion to his football team.

Pam and her husband, Bob, were missionaries overseas with their 4 children when Pam became very sick and was treated with very strong antibiotics, then finding out she was pregnant doctors told her to get an abortion because the anitbiotics would cause major birth defects for her 5th child. Needless to say, the 5th child they began praying for was "Timmy," later born a healthy Timothy Tebow.

Here's the link for one of articles I read: http://www.westernrecorder.org/wr/wrsite.nsf/stories/200844-Tebow

I've become a fan of Tim Tebow lately too! I read an article about how he played host on game day to a little boy with a disability.
